I wrote this in preparation for performing in class, but it seems I had no chance of that. This theme of the speech is about caring that had a very expensive price, not even able to sell it.
When Miss Mila (my lecturer) give me this task, I immediately thought about a speech ever delivered by Rachel Corrie, a fifth grade elementary school student who delivered a speech at the Conference on World Hunger. A child is amazing, in my opinion. Although ultimately, Rachel died as she tried to stop the eviction process that occurs in Palestine. All the media uproar talking about it, all sad and grieving. Then, the days continue as the public seemed to forget about the great story.
After that incident I think, actually not only Rachel who care for the earth and died tragically. But already a lot, even too much until we can not count them. But it turns out, their death is not enough to make this world better, death is not an exceptional case again, justice is nonsense, war is the solution, and many of us just turn a blind eye as if we did not know that the world today in moral crisis terrible, eventually many of us did not care.
However, the few people who still feel concerned about the world, please listen to the words which I will present.
Talking about death maybe too scary, too hard to define justice, and talk about the war? It was very painful. However, at least we still have a way to achieve a better life of the world, that is caring. Caring is a sign of love, friends. And love requires proof, not just in words, "Yes, I care about ..." but we need to prove it with an act, even though only a simple act.
Not littering is caring, not smoking is caring, not criticize each other, peace, no war, that is caring. Even pay taxes according to the rules, not cheat during the exam, and smiling is a form of caring. So for all those who feel caring, please complete your caring with the act, prove to the world we still have hope to be able to live together well.
People, I know, I was a nobody. I am not a president, not an artist, also not a great man whose words influence. However, I am a nobody who only want people who listen to this speech knows that he is a great man who still have a concern for others, keep your good faith and make this world better. Because the world really need you.
